.On Thursday, November 7th Valley R-VI School District hosted their annual Veterans Day Assembly. Mr. Jerry Compton gave a speech about services and what it means to be a veteran. The top two students from the Patriots Pen and Voice of Democracy competition presented their essays, Patriots Pen 1st Kassidy Portell, 2nd Bryier MIssey, Voice of Democracy 1st. Keeley Portell, 2nd Ryleigh Maxwell.
The assembly also featured songs and performances by the elementary students and also the JH/HS Band.
