On Friday, January 24th Valley R-VI hosted homecoming. Kyndra Civey and Drew McClain were crowned Homecoming King and Queen. The boys basketball teams pulled out a win against the Kingston Cougars.
Retiring Homecoming King and Queen of 2024 are KJ Tiefenauer and Regan Laramore. KJ is the son of Crystal Windle and grandson to Joe & Pam Tiefenauer. KJ is currently working for Buzzi Concrete. Regan Laramore is the daughter of Chris & Courtney Laramore. She is currently attending Mineral Area College and hopes to start the Medical Laboratory Technician Program and currently works as a licensed Insurance Agent.
The Little Mister and Miss Viking Leelyn Asher & Jocelynn Byers. Our Little Mister candidate is Leelyn Asher who is the son of Justina Mayes. He is currently attending Preschool and he loves to race four wheelers, dance, and enjoys Spiderman & Hulk. Our Little Miss candidate is Jocelynn Byers who also attends Preschool. She is the daughter of Keila Byers and granddaughter of Allan & Chris Byers. Jocelynn likes to play with friends, ride four-wheelers with mom and bubby. She also likes to check cows with Papa and read with Gigi. They are being escorted by Shelby Collins.
The Freshman candidates are Ryder Yount and Chelby Bequette. Ryder is the son of Greg and Becky Yount. He has played baseball, track, and basketball for one year. Chelby Bequette is the daughter of Chuck and Megan Bequette. She has played Volleyball and Basketball for one year.
Sophomore candidates are Jaxon Lawson and Kamryn Dickey. Jaxon is the son of Jeremy and Terri Lawson. He has played basketball for two years. Kamryn Dickey is the daughter of Aaron & Britney Dickey. She has played volleyball for two years and basketball for one year.
Junior candidates are Landon Lawson and Daisy Kearns. Landon Lawson is the son of Jeremy and Terri Lawson. He has played basketball for two years. Daisy Kearns is the daughter of Josh & Angela Kearns. She has been a cheerleader for 3 years and Track and Field for one year.
Senior Candidates
Case Ciskowski and Emma Alley. Case Ciskowski is the son of Brandon & Andrea Ciskowski. He has been a member of ESports for the past two years. Case plans to attend Mineral Area College and gain his HVAC certification. Emmy Alley is the daughter of Forest Alley and Laura Laramore. Emma has played Volleyball for four years and plans to get her associates degree in Business Management. Then she wants to attend Grabber School of Hair Design to get her Esthetician’s license.
Garrett Coleman, Hunter Northcutt, and Makenna Jenkins. Garrett Coleman is the son of Clifford and Anna Coleman and Steven and Ashley Jones. Garrett has been a member of Esports for 3 years. He plans to attend college after graduation. Hunter Northcutt is the son of Ted Northcutt and Amy Lunsford. He has played baseball for four years, and a member of Esports and Scholar Bowl for three years. After graduation, Hunter plans to attend Mineral Area College to gain an Associates of Applied Science degree. Makenna Jenkins is the daughter of Jarrod and Danielle Jenkins. She has been a member of Cheer for two years. After graduation, Makenna plans to pursue a degree to become a Pediatric or Behavioral Health Nurse.
Chayse DeClue, Cameron Hedrick, and Anna Pyatt. Chayse is the son of Derek DeClue and Amie Ashe. He has played basketball and baseball for four years. Chayse plans to enter the workforce after graduation. Cameron Hedrick is the son of Preston and Nicole Hedrick. He has played basketball for the past four years. After graduation Cameron plans to attend the American Welding Academy. Anna Pyatt is the daughter of Kenny and Liz Pyatt. She has been a member of the Esports team for two years. Anna plans to attend college and become a band teacher.
Kaiden Dickey and Carlie Loughary. Kaiden is the son of Aaron & Britney Dickey. Kaiden has played basketball for four years and baseball for three. After graduation, he plans to enter the workforce. Carlie is the daughter of Cody and Julie Loughary. She has played volleyball and ran cross country for four years. After graduation, Carlie plans to obtain a degree in Communications and then work in Public Relations and Marketing.
Drew McClain and Kyndra Civey. Drew is the son of Shannon and Monica McClain. Drew has played basketball and baseball for four years. After graduation, he plans to attend college to obtain his associates degree and play basketball. Kyndra Civey is the daughter of Jordan and Karey Civey. She has played basketball and volleyball for four years. After graduation, Kyndra plans to attend Mineral Area College and get her degree in Nursing.
Noah Maxwell and Avery Juliette. Noah is the son of Tim and Kathy Maxwell. He has played baseball for four years and plans to become an Entrepreneur after graduation. Avery Juliette is the daughter of Brad and Kelly Juliette. She has been a cheerleader for three years. After graduation, Avery plans to attend Maryville University and get a doctorate in Psychology.
Ayden Sims and Brylee Redinger. Ayden Sims is the son of Jason and Cara Sims. He has played basketball for 3 years and baseball for 4 years. Ayden is undecided about what he plans to do after high school. Brylee Redinger is the daughter of Paul and Deanna Redinger. She has been involved in cheer for two years and is currently doing competitive cheer. She has run cross country for three years and track for two. After graduation, she plans to attend Missouri State to continue her education in Nursing and do competitive cheerleading.
Walter Strother and Lindsey Jackson. Walter is the son of Mark and Mhayett Strother. He has been a member of Esports for 3 years and Scholar Bowl for four years. Walter plans to attend Missouri S&T to get a degree in Engineering. Lindsey Jackson is the daughter of Kayla Jackson. She has been a cheerleader for four years and is currently the cheer captain. After graduation, Lindsey plans to attend Cosmetology School.
Westin Thompson and Brooke Hampton. Westin Thompson is the son of Jason Thompson and Tara Buxton. Westin has played basketball for four years. After graduation, Westin plans to gain employment as a laborer for Buzzi Unicem USA. Brooke Hampton is the daughter of Chuckie and Tammy Hampton. Brooke has been a cheerleader for the past four years and baseball manager for two years. After Graduation, Brooke plans to either attend college to become a teacher or train in the field of culinary.
Hayden Todd and Haylee Moore. Hayden Todd is the son of Keith and Cynde Harbison, and Kevin Todd. He has played baseball four years and basketball for two. After graduation, Hayden plans to attend the American Welding Academy and pursue a career as a welder. Haylee Moore is the daughter of Ben and Andrea Moore. She has played basketball and volleyball for four years. After graduation, Haylee plans to become a Medical Assistant.
Sylas Vance and Alyssa Warren. Sylas Vance is the son of Steven and Lacy Vance. He has been a member of the Track team for two years. After graduation, Sylas plans to obtain a bachelor’s degree in Conservation. Alyssa Warren is the daughter of Krystal Edmond. She has played basketball for four years. After graduation, Alyssa plans to attend Mineral Area College and gain a degree in Nursing.
